Nature informs interdisciplinary artist Soli Pierce's use of shape, line, and light. The natural beeswax properties of the encaustics process allows light to infuse color. The circle shape signifies the unity of self, community, and our planet  -- a recurring theme in her work. The circle also acts as a portal: an invitation to the still point within, and a call to honor and protect the natural world. Another aspect of her current artistic practice is a collaboration with sonic composer Bruce Odland. In 2024, “Sound Forest: Songs of Disappearance,” was created as a site-specific art installation for the Hammond Museum, North Salem, New York.
