Ilse Schreiber-Noll Is a multimedia artist. Her paintings, installations, woodcuts, and Artist’s books speak of social and environmental issues. She will turn to the book form when she needs what a painting or woodcut can’t offer: PAGES.

Her painted books are diaries or visual documents and complement the content of her other works by bringing out its lyrical, tactile, and poetic reality, which is hidden in the heavy textured surfaces that contain residues of nature, books, sand, ashes and plants. This generates a strong sense of physical presence and lets the viewer feel and experience the destruction brought upon countries by war, pollution and natural as well as man-made disasters.
The artist presently lives and works in the Hudson Valley, NY
